08:00 pick up any hotel lobby in Amman, the driver has a sign in your name. Head to north, to town Ajloun, here you visit the great 12th century Islamic castle by the famous Islamic leader Salah al-Din. Continue to Jerash, the well know example of a well preserved Roman provincial city in the whole Middle East. See the Oval Plaza, Roman colonnaded street, the Nymphaeum and the Temple of Artemis. Drive back to your hotel in Amman.

When you have limited time, this is a good way to see some of the main sites. Jerash was the highlight and one of the most underrated archaeological sites in the word. It is definitely worth investing 2-3 hours if you like roman ruins and have the time. If you only have a day, I would recommend starting your tour early so you could get to ample time to enjoy the sites.
